This toolbox controls how simulation results (either finished or ongoing) are displayed in the main window area. It is activated only when a simulation preview tab is selected.

Main

Title
This text input allows changing the preview tab title.
Mode
This list choice defines the preview mode as explained below

RGB Image

This mode uses three explicitly named channels "R", "G" and "B" from simulation results and displays them as a RGB image. It is used for all photo-realistic renderings.

Options

Post-processing
This option enables post-processing globally on this simulation result
sRGB
If checked, linear RGB channels are converted to sRGB color space using the sRGB response curve. If unchecked, the channels are converted using a gamma (or power) curve, the gamma value being user-definable in the control below. The sRGB curve is close, but not strictly equal, to a gamma curve of 2.2
Range
This value controls the displayed dynamic range. A channel value equal or higher to this setting will be mapped to a RGB component of 255.
Draw infomations
When checked, some simulations statistics are added to the image.

Channel Image

This mode displays a single channel on screen. Various options are available for controlling how the channel is converted to an actual image. It allows visualizing values such as illuminance with a color scale and a legend.

Options

This option enables post-processing globally on this simulation result
Quantity
This controls the physical value that will be represented.
Channel
The visible channel can be selected here
Color
The color curve applied to channel values, between zero and range value (see below)
Range
This value controls the displayed dynamic range. A channel value of zero will be mapped to the first value of the color curve, while a channel value equal or higher to this setting will be mapped to the last color of the color curve.
Draw infomations
When checked, some simulations statistics are added to the image.
Draw legend
When checked, a scale is added on the right.

Table

This mode displays the simulation results in a spreadsheet.

Options

Post-processing
This option enables post-processing globally on this simulation result
Layout
This controls how the 3D data table (X, Y, channel) is 'sliced' to a 2D table. Two axis are mapped to rows and columns, while a single value of the third one can be selected as a page
Quantity
This controls the physical value that will be represented.
Channel/X/Y
The page can be selected here : Channel in X/Y mode, X in Channel/Y mode, and Y in X/Channel mode

Postprocessing

This section allows adjusting the postprocessing filters of the current instrument. The filters can be enabled or disabled, and their parameters can be changed. This can be done during a simulation, and the preview image is automatically updated.

This toolbox currently does not allow adding, removing or reordering the filters. This must be done by editing the instrument in the object editor, before starting the render.

Please note that these limitations will be removed in a future update.
